A Christmas concert featuring 150 people performing will take place at Portimão’s Igreja do Colégio church on Thursday, December 19 at 9.30pm. The singers belong to the Grupo Coral Adágio and the Academia de Música de Portimão.
The concert aims to celebrate the festive season but also serves to mark the reopening of the town’s iconic church following a revamp.
The Grupo Coral Adágio is a Portimão-based choir that celebrated its 20th anniversary this year. Led by maestro António Alves, it aims to promote high-quality choir music by performing an eclectic repertoire.
The Academia de Música de Portimão has a much shorter history, having been launched just last year.
Admission is free.
