The 15th Annual Shoebox Drive for the Elderly is now underway to help Silves-based charity Castelo de Sonhos distribute Christmas presents to the more than 200 elderly living in the area.
The boxes will be delivered by the Castelo de Sonhos team. This is how you can get involved, too:
Find an empty shoebox; fill your shoebox with a variety of gifts (pack carefully and wrap breakables well); wrap the shoebox and label for man, woman or couple; deliver filled shoeboxes to Castelo de Sonhos in Silves, the Holiday Inn Algarve in Armação de Pêra, or the Primavera Restaurant in Tunes between November 15 and December 9, or on Saturday, November 30 at the 3rd Annual Guia Autumn/Christmas Fair taking place at the Guia Football Club Snack Bar from 11am to 4pm.
Suggestions for gifts include toiletries, small items of clothing such woolly hats, gloves, socks and scarves, sweets and cakes, and small ornaments. Do not include medicines.
