17 parishes restored in the Algarve

The Portuguese Parliament approved last week the restoration of 302 parishes dissolved in the 2013 administrative reform, including 17 in the Algarve.

Eight parish unions in the region will be split, reinstating the following parishes: Conceição and Estoi (Faro); Bensafrim and Barão de São João (Lagos); Querença, Tôr, and Benafim (Loulé); Moncarapacho and Fuzeta (Olhão); Alcantarilha and Pêra (Silves); Algoz and Tunes (Silves); Conceição and Cabanas de Tavira (Tavira); Luz de Tavira and Santo Estêvão (Tavira).
