A 19-year-old youth, described as British, died yesterday evening after being caught in a rip-tide off Praia do Dragão Vermelho, Costa da Caparica. The young man got into difficulties while swimming with a couple of friends. By the time emergency services reached the spot, the two friends had managed to reach the shore by themselves. Air and sea searches were actioned, albeit light was failing. The victim’s body was later discovered on nearby Tarquínio-Paraíso beach (Setúbal district).
