2025 brings record number of races to Algarve racetrack

23 events have been confirmed at the Algarve racetrack

The Algarve International Circuit (AIA) will host a record number of races in 2025, with 23 events already confirmed.

Racetrack bosses are promising a year of adrenaline-packed fun on two and four wheels, from the popular Superbike World Championship in March to the penultimate race of the MotoGP World Championship in November.

The Kartódromo Internacional do Algarve, a multi-purpose karting circuit located near the racetrack in Portimão, also has a handful of national and international races planned for 2025.

“This will be the year with the most international competitions hosted at our circuit, all held in the off-season. It’s very important for us to host these events outside peak tourist periods, ensuring not just significant media exposure but also guaranteeing greater economic vitality for the entire region,” said Jaime Costa, administrator of the racetrack.

Costa also highlighted how each event draws thousands of visitors, from fans to racing teams, many of whom stay for up to a week, helping bolster the hospitality sector outside of the summer season.

Tickets are already for sale for some of the most anticipated races, such as the Superbike and MotoGP events.
