The 2025 State Budget bill was approved today in general with votes in favour from the two parties supporting the government, PSD and CDS-PP, and the PS abstaining. The other opposition parties – Chega, IL, BE, PCP, Livre and PAN – all voted against, for different reasons. The PS has already announced that it will also abstain in the final overall vote, scheduled for November 29, ensuring the viability of the first State Budget presented by the PSD/CDS-PP minority executive headed by Luís Montenegro.
