The Portuguese Navy coordinated the rescue of an 83-year-old man who suffered a serious head injury while on a cruise ship that was travelling around 130 kilometres south of the Saint Vincent Cape in Sagres, Algarve.
As the “situation was urgent,” the Navy deployed a Portuguese Air Force EH-101 helicopter to transport the octogenarian to Faro Airport, from where he was then taken to the local hospital.
