Algarve Socialist (PS) party member and former Civil Governor Isilda Gomes is running for president of Portimão Câmara in the 2013 local elections in October.
With 93% of the votes from Portimão PS commission members, Isilda Gomes was the only candidate on the Socialist list for that Algarve city.
Current Portimão mayor Manuel da Luz, also from the PS party, will be concluding his mandate next year.
