English girl band Sugababes will be performing at Festival Sudoeste at Zambujeira do Mar on August 7.
Heidi Range, Amelle Berrabah and Jade Ewen have entered The Guinness Book of World Records as the most successful female act of the 21st century, with six UK number one singles and eighteen UK top-ten hits.
Sugababes were formed in 1998 by founding members Siobhán Donaghy, Mutya Buena and Keisha Buchanan.
In 2001, after just one album and some initial success, Siobhán Donaghy departed and the introduction of Heidi Range in the same year was met with the commercial success of the band’s first number one single Freak Like Me.
The group survived a second line-up change in December 2005, when Mutya Buena left the band and was subsequently replaced by Amelle Berrabah.
In September 2009, it was confirmed that after eleven years in the band, Mutya Buchanan was no longer part of the group and had been replaced by Jade Ewen.
The band released their seventh studio album in March this year called Sweet 7, their first since signing with Jay-Z’s record label Roc Nation in March 2009.
Sweet 7 is the first studio album with new member Jade Ewen.
