Dear Editor,
It feel that I have to defend Skip Bandele to a degree. I normally find his articles to be informative but, at the same time, opinionated. That is not a bad thing.
In fact, thank you Skip for making us search our own feelings/views, and to actually think.
I would much rather read something which challenges my own views than just read mindless, bland articles. I may even find some things I read as offensive, but, we all have opinions.
Now I must turn my attention to the letter from Jean Brand. I agree, I enjoy living here. But I live here as a Citizen of the EU. I cannot vote in the Election of the Portuguese Government, but that does not mean that I do not have an interest in their policies. They will affect me!
Things have changed. Some changes are good, some are not. But I am not about to stick my head in the sand simply because I have more sunny days here, or ‘live under God’s blue sky’. I have to look at these changes and ask in what way they will affect me living here.
MARTYN SMITH, Monchique
