Dear Editor,
I have lived in the Algarve for two years and don’t speak Portuguese. Therefore, when I found out that I was pregnant I was really worried about having my baby here in Portugal.
Many of the ex-pats advised me to go back to England to have my baby instead. However, because of work it was impossible for me to spend three months in England.
Anyway, I ended up having my baby at Portimão hospital on December 28, 2008 and had a fantastic experience. The staff were really friendly, helpful and caring, and the hospital itself is immaculately clean. I really cannot fault any part of the service there.
I thought it would be nice to let the ex-pat community know that there are some good stories about the hospitals here.
