WITH A year of business under its belt, the name Expressions has now become synonymous with quality and individuality.
In their modern and light Almancil studio, husband and wife team Adam and Carla Ainscough aim to offer a service second to none in their portraiture business.
With degrees in photography and graphic design, the couple are proud of the unique character portraits they painstakingly create that are then printed in the UK, in order to maintain the high standard of quality.
“Unfortunately, we were unable to find anywhere in Portugal that could print the portraits to such a high standard, whereas in the UK they offer a 100 year guarantee,” says Carla.
“We want our clients to be comfortable in a relaxed atmosphere. We have found that they have such fun during the hour or so in which we take the photos. We want to capture the true character of each person at that stage of their life – whether it be children, adults or pets – or all together!”
Works of art
After a few days, clients return to the studio to see the images after they have been through different stages, including airbrushing, art work and graphics.
“At this stage, a lot of work goes into the images. It is certainly not just a case of snap and print,” stresses Carla.
There the client can choose the prints they would like to be made into individual ‘works of art’, where the images are projected onto a big screen. They will then be ready for collection in roughly four to six weeks.
“We get such a buzz when the clients see the final product for the first time – some even cry. We are so lucky to be doing a job that we love so much,” said Carla.
