FAMILY RUN Algarve-based supermarket company Apolónia opened their second store in Galé, Albufeira, on June 25.
This new supermarket, which complements the existing one in Almancil, offers more than 25,000 products in a 980sqm establishment.
There are a variety of sections within the new supermarket including a cold meats counter, a bakery, a winery, fresh fruit and vegetables and a sushi bar.
Car parking facilities for customers include 62 underground spaces and 50 outside the supermarket.
With the opening of the new store in Galé, Apolónia have also modernised their image with the aim, they say, of making it more attractive and appealing.
The leaf detail in the new logo is a simplification of the original tree symbol designed to portray freshness and the importance of detail to the company.
Avelino and Célia Apolónia started the Apolónia supermarket company in 1983 with a small minimarket in Vale d’Éguas near Almancil.
The couple began to specialise in new products that emerged in the Portuguese market as well as foreign products to fulfil the needs of their multinational customers.
The Apolónia Galé supermarket is open everyday between 8am and 9pm. For more information, please visit the website, available in English at www.apolonia.com.
