GERRY MCCANN has told a press conference that there is “absolutely no way Kate and I are involved in this abduction”.
The couple were in Germany and Gerry McCann also spoke of the terror and helplessness that the couple felt in the first few days after Madeleine’s abduction.
Thirty-four days on from that dreadful evening the McCanns are being subjected to criticism at the way in which they are promoting themselves in an attempt to keep Madeleine’s name and image in the minds of as many people as possible across the world.
Gerry McCann said that he would never have imagined that the things he and Kate are doing now would have been possible following the abduction of Madeleine from her holiday bed in Praia da Luz at the beginning of May.
He suggested that many of the people present at the news conference have asked themselves how they would have reacted if it had been them in the McCann’s current position and that he and Kate are amazed at the things they are able to do in the continuing search for Madeleine.
