ANGERED CHINESE government officials censored some of the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie as it depicts the Chinese as villainous and evil.
Chow Yun-Fat, who plays Pirate Lord Sao Feng, has had his screen time cut in half due to the censorship and his line “welcome to Singapore” was cut down as it hints that Singapore is a land of pirates.
This is not the only time the Chinese government has been angered by a Hollywood film. The Departed also got their backs up due to the mention of a Chinese plan to buy military equipment.
