GERRY AND Kate McCann may have to be re-interviewed in the UK by British police on behalf of the Portuguese authorities.
According to reports in the Portuguese press today (Monday), a report sent to the Ministério Público asked the judge analysing the case to call back to Portugal Madeleine’s parents and the group of friends who were with them when Madeleine disappeared on May 3.
However, the judge has denied that they have been asked to return and is instead sending an official letter containing some key questions for the British police to put to the group.
It is understood that the timing of the additional inquiries will be decided by the UK authorities.
The official formalities required may lead to delays in the Policia Judiciária (PJ) investigation in Portugal.
