TO COINCIDE with The Resident’s 18th birthday on November 6, 2007, at the end of last year, charities across the Algarve were invited to submit applications to become The Resident’s Charity of the Year.
A panel of judges went through the applications and out of many deserving causes, the Alvor children’s home, Lar de Crianças Bom Samaritano, was nominated.
A series of fundraising events will be held throughout this year to raise as much money as possible for this worthy charity. See our special feature about Lar de Crianças Bom Samaritano in next week’s edition of The Resident.
Until the end of the year, The Resident will be featuring the other applicants, so that our readers are aware of who is doing what for the community and hopefully offer their support.
