Portuguese exports on the rise

Great news for Portuguese exports. September is always a good month, but this year surpassed 2012’s total by 0.8%, while exports generally are up 4% on the same period last year.

During the first nine months of 2013, Portugal’s exports brought in over €35 billion, even though they almost dried up entirely in August.
Data from the National Statistics Institute (INE) shows the bulk of these results are due to a rise in sales to international markets.
And elsewhere the government is reporting a slight increase in imports (to the tune of 0.8%)
