Portimão is to host the 9th Grand Chapter of the Algarve Gastronomic Brotherhood (Confraria dos Gastrónomos do Algarve) on October 12, when around 200 confreres from Portugal, Italy and Spain are expected to attend.
The group will first gather at the Igreja Matriz church for a special enthronement ceremony, followed by a gala at the Hotel Algarve Casino in Praia da Rocha from 8pm.
The Stª Maria de Ossónoba Awards Gala will then take place to distinguish people, products and companies in a variety of categories, such as best chefs for traditional regional and national gastronomy, best Algarve wine and national winery and best Algarve and national restaurant, among other.
