Fado concert in aid of animal welfare

Algarve fado singer Ricardo Neto, who was once helped by animal protection association APAA with the sterilisation of his dogs, is now returning the favour by organising a charity concert in support of animal welfare at the Teatro Mascarenhas Gregório in Silves on December 7 at 9pm.

Other artists joining Ricardo on stage are Alice Pires, actress and ‘fadista’, the Xelb Tuna (traditional university singing/dancing group), Jorge Franco, Portuguese guitar player, and Fernando Silva, Fado viola player.

The concert is being supported by Silves Câmara and tickets cost €10, with €5 being donated to the APAA.

Tickets are available from the APAA shop at Rua Elias Garcia Nº 20 in Silves, at Jane’s Little Shop by Rua Mesquita, also in Silves, or by emailing info.apaaportugalmail.com
Teatro Mascarenhas Gregório, near the GNR, is a beautifully restored theatre seating 150 people.

Ricardo Neto is asking concert-goers to bring along a donation of dog or cat food for distribution to animals in need.
