An innovative thermal cover to protect firefighters and firefighting vehicles during dangerous situations has been created by a team of researchers from the University of Coimbra.
The device was successfully tested and showed great resistance to flames while also ensuring a tolerable temperature underneath it.
The coordinator of the project considered the new cover “very promising” and announced that a prototype is expected to be launched within the next two years.
