Portuguese virtual reality company Insizium from Santa Maria da Feira was showcased on Wednesday at the inauguration of the virtual reality projection dome EonVision Idome in Irvine, California.
The dome, equipped with the sector’s latest technology, is owned by Eon Reality, which is also Insizium’s main shareholder.
Thus Eon Reality opted to share the Portuguese company’s technological wizardry – including videos of whales at sea and a rollercoaster ride inside a mine – with illustrious guests, including Albert II, the Prince of Monaco, ex-Brazilian football star Ronaldo and movie legend Morgan Freeman.
The dome’s launch was advertised as the first of its kind to incorporate the quality of the Hollywood film industry into multisensory interactive 4D entertainment by mixing 3D sound with 4D sensations. The reality translated into wonders like ‘moving chairs’ and sensory effects, including smells, water, temperature and wind.
