Colourful triumph

German artist Brigitte von Humboldt is holding her very first exhibition in the Vale do Lobo art gallery. This colourful and uplifting art show, inspired by Mother Nature, is open to the public and runs until March 22. The exhibition, which includes around 20 paintings, is based on themes such as water, desert, rain forest and flowers. As the artist explains: “I try to make paintings that portray what is positive and beautiful in nature.” Von Humboldt has lived in the Algarve for some 20 years and works out of her Atelier Azul in Meia Praia near Lagos. She has held many exhibitions in Germany, as well as in Portugal, with well-received shows in the São José Convent in Lagoa, the Art Chapel in Alcantarilha and the Mãe d’Água Museum in Lisbon. Brigitte von Humboldt jokingly calls herself a “colour addict” and this cheerful and inspirational show is the ideal exhibition to kick off the spring for art lovers throughout the Algarve.
