Two of the region’s biggest luxury resorts have joined together in a move that they say will combine strengths and offer guests more. Vale do Lobo signed the alliance agreement with Grampiam Investimentos Hoteleiros, S.A – the luxury hotel group that operates the five-star Hotel Quinta do Lago and Ria Park Resort, the four-star Ria Park Garden and the Ria Park Residence Spa, a total of 450 rooms.
The agreement was signed by Sander van Gelder, chairman of the Vale do Lobo Group of Companies, and Daniel do Adro, president of Grampiam Investimentos Hoteleiros, S.A. It was apparently born out of the realisation that the two groups share the same target group at the top end of the market, while offering complementary services, predominantly in the neighbouring resorts of Vale do Lobo and Vale do Garrão.
A spokesman from Vale do Lobo explained that both businessmen felt that it would be mutually advantageous to combine strengths to offer their demanding clientele the finest range of quality facilities. Aside from the alliance, the parties do, however, remain as independent entities.
“The alliance means that clients have the option of staying in Vale do Lobo’s villas and apartments or in one of the luxury hotels, which together represent in excess of 2,000 beds,” the spokesman explained. “This luxury accommodation is offered together with outstanding golf – two championship golf courses, the Royal and the Ocean and excellent conference facilities – the Vale do Lobo Auditorium and the hotels’ various meeting rooms. Clients can also enjoy quality gastronomy, the largest tennis centre in the Algarve, health and beauty services, fine shopping and a full programme of events and entertainment, and, even better, all with special discounts and favourable conditions.”
Daniel do Adro commented: “I am very pleased that we have been able to come to this agreement. The alliance is advantageous for both parties, as it associates high quality golf with luxury tourism.” An equally enthusiastic Sander van Gelder said: “I am sure that this alliance will bring many advantages to our clients and will be a very strong way to support the quality tourism in this area and in the Algarve. I am very happy to work closely with an entrepreneur like Daniel do Adro, who has the same objectives as we have; to strive for excellence and quality for the discerning client.”
The joint initiative will soon be highlighted in both companies’ promotional material, while clients and tour operators are being officially informed of the alliance.
The spokesman also confirmed that any new hotels planned in Vale do Lobo, including The Royal Golf and Beach Hotel, as well as a hotel at both the golf club and tennis centre, will be added to this alliance.
