Tropical Algarve

This weekend, the Algarve will host the first ever Caribbean festival to be held in Portugal. Festa Caribe 2004 is being run by veteran Caribbean festival organiser Christoph Höver, along with Ana Isabel Biscaia.

“We are bringing a heavy, exclusive line-up and an exuberant atmosphere to thousands of enthusiastic dance music lovers. It will be a unique experience not to be missed,” enthused Christoph.

The line-up is extensive and includes Cuban band NG la Banda, Amarfis y la Banda Attake, winners of the ‘most played band’ award at the recent meeting of Latino-music DJ’s in New York. Popular Cuban band 3 + 2 Són will also be there, playing a wealth of Cuban music, from Cha-cha-cha to Mambo along with their latest releases.

Tickets cost 20 euros each. These can be purchased at Banco Banif in Tavira and Valentim de Carvalho music stores, or reserved online at www.festa-caribe.com. The event is being held at Pavilhão Desportivo Municipal in Tavira (just off the EN125). Doors open at 10pm. So, for a night to remember, visit Festa Caribe 2004!
