Christmas shoppers braving the rain and cold in Lisbon’s Baixa Chiado last week would have wondered if they’d arrived in a different country. For standing in a long line opposite the Armazéns Chiado shopping centre were hoards of bikini-clad girls sporting sunglasses, surf boards and cocktails.
It was in fact the last heat of Vodafone’s Yorn Girl’s Surf Trip, a promotional campaign that lasted until December 1. The competition challenged all of Vodafone’s young female clients to appear with a friend at the new Yorn store dressed in bikinis for the beach while two presenters and a jury selected 20 pairs they considered the best-dressed, the most fun and most original – the prize is a Yorn Girl’s Surf Trip to Brazil.
