Just in time for the Christmas holidays, Portimão’s Continente Shopping Centre has reopened the six cinema theatres that closed down so abruptly nearly a year ago due to the bankruptcy of Castello Lopes Cinemas.
The movie theatres are now under the management of Cineplace – the company run by Grupo Orient that also runs the recently reopened cinema space at AlgarveShopping in Guia.
In taking over, Cineplace has revamped projection and sound technologies, as well as made changes to seating and walkways.
In other words, Portimão is back on track with two different establishments offering the latest from the world of the big screen. Elsewhere, the two-theatre Algarcine continues as before.
