Too strapped for cash to repair the Roman Bridge in the centre of town, Lagos Câmara has at least managed to find funding to repair the old bridge over the Arão stream in Odiáxere. Mayoress Joaquina Matos said the local authority had received special funding by declaring the structure of “municipal interest”.
Works to the tune of €53,000 will now go ahead as a “matter of urgency”.
