Portugal has been sentenced by the European Court of Human Rights to pay over €20,000 in compensation payouts due to the tardiness of its judicial system – namely four court cases which had been or are ongoing for years.
The worst case, a debt collection lawsuit launched against a company in Lisbon, has been endlessly roaming the Portuguese judicial system for 17 years.
