Lunch || Algarve Senior Bikers celebrated the fourth year of the group’s existence with a special lunch in Benafim.
Two groups, one from the west and one from east, met in Lagos and São Brás de Alportel and followed different routes across the Algarve to meet in Benafim, north of Loulé, for a celebratory lunch, including three birthday cakes made by Dee Shirley.
As well as providing an “excellent lunch”, Manuel, the owner of Restaurant O Hamburgo in Benafim, displayed his own bikes in the restaurant including his “beautifully restored” 250cc BMW from 1961.
Group member Kiss FM’s Owen Gee congratulated David Shirley, who started the ASB in June 2010, on the success of the group and thanked him and Angus MacNeil on behalf of all the members for leading the day’s rides.
The ASB now has over 130 members.
The next event is being planned by Brian (6th gear) Evans for July 22. It will start and end in São Brás de Alportel and details will be announced shortly.
