Lagos council awarding 25 student scholarships this academic year

For the first time since 2011 – and in a bid to help bright young people continue with their studies – Lagos council will be awarding 25 student scholarships this academic year (2014/ 2015). Youngsters will be helped with “accommodation, transportation and food costs” – but the scholarships will only be awarded to those who have already started on their bachelor’s and master’s degrees (‘mestrado integrado’). Council chiefs explain this is one way they can help towards “building a better life” for the community.
