Earthquake forum in Lagos

The 15th National Meeting of Municipalities with Historic Centres is currently taking place in Lagos, with politicians and officials gathering to discuss the challenges ancient boroughs face, with “earthquake risks” on a par with “the financial crisis and budget cuts”. Meetings are scheduled for 9am at Lagos’ Cultural Centre this week, between October 30 and November 1 – the 259th anniversary of the legendary “Great Earthquake” that levelled Portugal in 1755.
