Tavira council has signed a €223,000 deal with construction firm Martins Gagos & Filhos, Lda to carry out improvement work at the local Ermida de São Roque church.
The project aims to prevent further degradation of the 16th century building and includes improvements to its ceilings, walls and pillars.
Work is expected to take around a year.
