President Cavaco Silva has been on a whistle-stop PR tour of the United Arab Emirates promoting Portugal’s potential for business investment. Accompanying the president, Público newspaper reports that the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi has shown interest in Portugal’s financial, energy, paper, tourism and pharmaceutical sectors and will be sending a technical team over within the next few months to study available options. Economic prospects for Portugal looked “very positive”, affirmed Cavaco.
