Despite endless bad press focusing on the performance of hospitals in the vice-grip of austerity, more than 80% have passed a national study with flying colours.
Recognition as the best hospital in the country has gone to Hospital Eduardo Santos Silva in Vila Nova de Gaia.
It scored an impressive 14 out of 14 for clinical excellence, complying with all the criteria set by ERS, Portugal’s hospital regulatory authority.
