São Brás de Alportel’s fire department received two very special Christmas presents from the local borough and parish councils last month – a brand new ambulance and a €6,000 subsidy.
While the vehicle was purchased for €40,000 (75% covered by community funds and the remainder by donations from the local population), the subsidy, on the other hand, was provided equally by both the local borough and parish councils.
