An angry mob is reported to have started throwing stones at police as agents moved in on two men in the process of raiding a Pingo Doce supermarket, in Chelas, Lisbon, over the weekend.
Despite the attack, the police managed to restrain the robbers and take them into custody.
As the men now face a judge at Campus de Justiça, police are said to be trying to identify the stone-throwers.
