Photographs that changed the world

Photographer Paulo Viegas will be giving a presentation on ‘Photographs that Changed the World’ on March 9 in the Municipal Library of Tavira and on March 10 in the Municipal Library of Lagoa, both starting at 6pm.

Born in Faro, 36-year-old Paulo Viegas is a self-taught photographer who promotes himself through his photography.

Paulo founded the photographic club f/18.1, and together with members and through exhibitions, he has given support to the Fundação Irene Rolo, the Tavira-based charity for disabled people and those with special needs. He also helps various charitable initiatives, such as the restoration of ‘O Golfinho’, the traditional wooden fishing boat, and works with animal charities.

Paulo is a great believer in the saying that one image is worth a thousand words and, in this presentation, he will be giving his view on the world’s great photographs, and how these photos have been instrumental in changing people’s perceptions and making a difference to their lives.
