Albufeira || Falésia beach in Albufeira is the setting for the “Epic Walk for Wishes” to help seriously-ill children see their dreams come true.
Organised by the Epic Sana Algarve hotel in support of the ‘Make a Wish’ Foundation, the 9km walk along the beach on April 4 is expected to attract a large number of participants wishing to help the cause while enjoying the surrounding scenery.
All funds raised will go directly to ‘Make a Wish’, a foundation that helps realise the wishes of children and teenagers affected by serious illnesses. The charity can be found in 43 countries and in 2007 it came to Portugal. To date, the foundation has helped realise 435 wishes with the support of 150 volunteers nationwide – but 90 wishes are still to come true.
Registration starts at 9.30am, with the walk starting at 11am. Each participant will receive a goodie bag with a T-shirt, water and a snack.
Tickets cost €5 for adults and €3 for children.
