“Nervous” drug mule caught with €100,000-worth of cocaine strapped to her legs

A Brazilian passenger flying into Lisbon en route for Austria was caught by PSP police on Sunday with 15 packs of cocaine worth €100,000 strapped to her legs. Reports do not refer to the way she may have been walking but say the woman’s “extreme nervousness” attracted border control attention. The mule’s stash was apprehended and she has appeared before magistrates accused of drug trafficking.

According to Correio da Manhã, the woman is 43 and had flown in from Pará in Brazil.

The drugs on her body weighed more than two kilos and are understood to have been packed in the shape of a “chourizo” (sausage).
