A Portuguese teacher and one of her students are leaving for Greece on August 23 with the inspirational desire to take education to refugee children.
As marketing student Andreia Cardoso has explained, “so many children in camps are bored, doing nothing”.
The impetus of two women intent on bringing refugee teachers into contact with refugee children is to appeal for financial help through Facebook.
The duo are due to visit two camps in Greece, with teacher Ana Cila planning to return in time for the start of the academic year in September, while Cardoso is travelling on a one-way ticket, determined to make a difference.
