Portugal to take in 50 ‘Aquarius’ migrants in September

Portugal’s Ministry of Internal Administration has confirmed that the country will be taking in 50 migrants from the ‘Aquarius’ boat in September.

The ministry said that these procedures take time as people have to be registered and “health issues” have to be taken care of.

This statement came shortly after Italian Minister Matteo Salvini accused Portugal and other European countries of failing to fulfil their promises of taking in migrants rescued from the sea.
