Esposende council donates over €7,000 of ‘fireworks money’ to help Monchique rebuild

The council of Esposende, a small coastal town north of Porto, will donate €7,380 to Monchique to help the borough rebuild after this month’s devastating wildfire.

The money was originally meant for a musical firework show, which was later cancelled due to the government’s temporary firework ban. As a “gesture of solidarity”, the council decided to put the money to good use instead and donate it to Monchique’s rebuilding efforts.
