In a bid to promote the best the Algarve has to offer, the regional tourism board (RTA) will be taking part in two major events – the Mediterranean Diet Fair in Tavira this weekend and the Better Living in Portugal (BLiP) expo in Portimão next month.
The Mediterranean Diet Fair runs from September 6 to 9, once again featuring a variety of cooking demonstrations and food tastings as well as musical performances, debates, exhibitions and entertainment for the whole family.
RTA’s stand will showcase some of the Algarve’s cultural landmarks. The Mediterranean Diet was considered World Intangible Heritage by UNESCO in 2013 and Tavira was one of the municipalities that supported the bid.
The tourism board will then be attending BLiP, which will take place on October 13 and 14 at the Portimão Arena and will feature a wide range of businesses promoting their products and services to residents in Portugal.
The event takes place every year and is organised by afpop, the largest association of foreign residents in Portugal.
