Vila Vita Parc – Best Hotel Resort
Three hotels and one golf course in the Algarve were among the winners of the Publituris Portugal Travel Awards 2018, considered the ‘Oscars’ of the national tourism sector.
Vila Vita Parc in Porches (Lagoa) was named Best Hotel Resort, Salgados Palm Village in Albufeira was Best Family Resort Hotel while Vila Joya, also in Albufeira, was Best Beach Hotel.
The title of Best Golf Course went to Onyria Palmares in Lagos, which won the award for the seventh time in a row.
The award ceremony took place on Friday, September 21 in Tróia.
Algarve tourism chief João Fernandes was delighted to see the region’s hotel and golf sectors prove their worth once again, praising the region for boasting the best of what Portugal has to offer.
The winners of the Publituris Travel Awards are decided by votes from the subscribers of the Publituris newsletter (40%) and votes from a jury panel (60%), which this year included the president of Turismo de Portugal Luís Araújo, the president of the national hoteliers association Raúl Martins, the president of the Portuguese association of travel agents and tourism Pedro Costa Ferreira, the president of the Vila Galé group Jorge Rebelo de Almeida and the administrator of the Pousadas de Portugal group, Frederico Costa.
