The queen of Fado, Amália Rodrigues, will be celebrated at a special concert by Al-Mouraria on Saturday, September 22 at Vale do Lobo from 7.30pm.
The “very best of the traditional Portuguese sound of Fado” will be presented by the Al-Mouraria group, featuring performances on the Portuguese guitar, classical guitar, double bass and accordion while accompanied by “superb female voices”.
Amália Rodrigues has been a constant source of inspiration for a generation of musicians over her 50-year recording career.
During the Amália Forever concert, the diva of Fado will be celebrated with performances of some of her best loved works including renditions of “Povo que Lavas no Rio”, “Por Vontade de Deus”, “Maria Lisboa” and “Casa da Mariquinhas”.
Entrance to the concert costs €15.
