Three men have been arrested for allegedly raping a woman after a night out in Faro.
The case dates back to the night of October 9. The 28-year-old woman reported the case to the police and the ensuing investigation resulted in the arrest of “three foreign men” on Monday last week.
According to a statement by PJ police in Faro, the men approached the woman in Olhão and pretended to be friends of someone she knew. They then persuaded her to accompany them to nightclubs in Faro.
After the night out, the three men allegedly took advantage of the fact that the woman was drunk and raped her on the way back to Olhão.
The three men were detained but have already been released. They must report regularly to their local police and must have no contact with the victim.
