A 50-year-old man wanted for attempted murder in Lille, France, was arrested at Faro Airport, the Portuguese border control authority (SEF) announced on Wednesday.
The man was trying to board a flight to Cork, Ireland, when he was intercepted by authorities.
French authorities had issued a European arrest warrant against the man who has appeared before a judge at Évora’s appeals court. He will be kept in jail while awaiting his extradition order to France to face charges.
