A 40-year-old security guard has been arrested in Algoz (Silves) on suspicion of having assaulted his wife, 38, and threatened to kill her in front of their children, aged five and 12.
During the searches, GNR police found a whip, handcuffs and pepper spray which are believed to belong to the man who was due to appear before a judge as we went to press.
