Mercadona, the well-known Spanish food retail group, completed its first stage of supermarket openings in Portugal with the inauguration of a supermarket in Gondomar on Tuesday, July 23.
The event “attracted many people” as did the openings in the three other supermarkets in Vila Nova de Gaia, Matosinhos and Maia.
By the end of the year, the group aims to employ around 1,100 people in Portugal.
